I do hope the following will be of help to you so please relax and know I am talking to you. You probably have done a lot of spiritual and self development work; you may even have trained in various healing modalities and now you are probably exhausted. You may even feel you are getting worse or at least no longer moving forward ... there is a chance you have never felt on top of the situation. The suggestions of others usually well meant have not helped & maybe quite contradictory to how you experience the world. Being told to protect yourself, not to be so open, sensitive or even that you need to forgive is frustrating and often makes us feel even more alienated from others. Your birth family members as in siblings, parents and grandparents may have been very different to you. In the extreme completely different and you may have wondered if you were adopted or mixed up in hospital! Alternatively you may have just felt you didn't fit in and tried to be like them for approval or appear normal; you may have disassociated hence lost yourself in books, imaginary friends, or tried to keep out the way. This is a coping strategy that is not working for you now. You may have found yourself a carer for parent(s) that were not emotionally stable due to substance or process addictions, this causes you to take responsibility and often suppress anger at a lost childhood. It may have been more subtle with parental/sibling jealousy ... you may have found yourself a scapegoat for the family problems. It is important that you do not write this off as "co-dependency" please read my essay on "A Spiritual perspective on Co-dependency". True there can be an element of co-dependency but in co-dependent behaviour the person wants to "control" the other ... this is different truly you want nothing for yourself you want to give and receive love and show there is another way of Being. Empaths often incarnate into families to do just that ... empaths are already living in the heart and will live as an example of their own purity ... that is hard for them to accept that they are pure and their acceptance of that is their lesson in this life time ... whilst of course also the need to take their power back. Where is their power? Unfortunately lost in the need to justify their existence, compromise their own needs and allow abuse to continue into their adult lives. If you have energy disorder(s) that is primarily because past and present people have helped themselves to your energy. (You may have been very controlled in childhood and been a "good child" this will produce feelings of being unable to express yourself and under depression or apathy a deep anger can lurk ... you may be considered over sensitive although it relates to parenting rather than a level of consciousness/empathy ... as I said before these exercises will also help ...:) I referred earlier that we can find ourselves "scapegoats" (by this I mean things around us change/our presence seems to shake up the status quo this can be a pattern in our lives not just birth family but work scenarios, friends, partners etc The reason for this is understanding energy and calibrated levels of consciousness/vibration. Some people have what is called a catalytic energy; in the East it is called Shaktipat and followers will sit with masters who have this energy. It reflects back their "issues" or unfelt emotion(s) and the disciple on feeling it emerge will leave and go and address it. You can understand how you can become a time-bomb in closed and guarded situations. Suddenly you appear and things come to light, people lose their tempers or just feel uncomfortable. It isn't about you personally but your level of energy starts to cleanse the situation, relationship, and work-place; in the same way you tend to "know" things that people leave unsaid and feel uncomfortable when people lie or distort the truth ... THIS IS YOU AND IT IS NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF. Moving on, the reason why most practises will not work as in "protection" ..... bubbles, mirrors, walls etc is quite simple. They are fear based and we feel as if we are hiding in a fearful way which can make the problem worse hence it has limited success. The second reason is that we work from the Heart and the heart does not know or recognise boundaries ... it is not the way of the Heart. However on this planet it is needed and that is why we are given a second body ... the aura. Listen carefully here, every baby is born knowing where its aura is ... babies fill up their allotted space. Just for a minute stretch your hand up above your head, imagine that distance below your feet (remember energy does not know matter) ... so the same distance above your head and below the ground. Now stretch you arm out in front of you and turn slowly round again imagine that your finger tips are a bright blue neon pen. You are drawing a line at the end of your personal space which is bright neon blue ... this is not fear based ...YOU ARE TAKING BACK THE SPACE THAT WAS ALWAYS YOURS. You do this several times a day and it is detailed in Month One of the course. Whilst you may not have clairvoyant or visual skills FEEL it there just know it is there .. It was always there but you just ignored it and let others know you had no healthy boundary. Just as important start seeing others in their boundary .. so just visualise this neon blue egg around them and hold it in your awareness for as long as you can (this is not easy but becomes easier with practise) it causes a separation .. Friends etc might ask you if you are all right they will energetically notice it but keep them out. Your space is "by invitation only" from now on. I hi-lighted a line earlier about disassociation being a coping strategy that is not working now. Drifting through childhood trying to make sense or keep ourselves sane or safe, this practise became a way of life. Often it adds to the feeling of exhaustion, tiredness even ME can stem from this. If you can imagine a child walking along the pavement holding a balloon on a long string well this is you ... inasmuch you are not home and your spirit bobs elsewhere but you need it back ... it comes and goes but mostly your body is trashed how can it not be so, you are rarely home! If you are not in your body any Tom, Dick or Harry can grab some energy or even take us residence. If you are aware of being with people and then feeling drained ... they are vampires ... not connected to Source they live off each other. Still on the same topic it is very important to understand that Energy = Attention Attention = Energy They are the same thing ... if you feel suddenly tired or drained ask yourself where your attention has been because that is where your energy is ... just think about it and pay attention to the moment and don't drift ... this must become a new pattern. You will find an exercise in the PDF file on grounding the lower three charkas this is vital to keep grounded; also walk, dance, gardening, practise mindfulness when you undertake your daily tasks, washing the dishes, ironing, vacuuming ... you have to do certain tasks, use them to benefit you no matter how boring they are. Remember again "Energy and Attention is the same thing"! So quick recap Define your aura See others in their auras Ground your lower three charkas Be mindful and watch where your attention wanders to and call your energy back! Make a decision to "honour" who you are and work at making your body a holy space that you're spirit/higher self wants to reside in. Do not allow others to manipulate your compassionate nature. Remember you can only honour people who are honourable ... read my essay on Compassion V Sacrifice. Become self sufficient one step at a time .... Remember when we ask people for help we are "at the mercy of their integrity" or lack of it. If you are thinking that you don't know what to do, ask yourself what frightens me the most? Speaking your truth in a certain situation, leaving a relationship, a job, ending a friendship(s) .. ? Normally what frightens us the most is exactly what we do need to do right now! If you are feeling tired, lethargic or in apathy it is likely that you are blocking your energy by refusing to make a change in your life. Be brave and face up to it, write it down and start taking steps to act and change it. If you are compromising yourself, normally when we are worried about upsetting others or through fear ... you must stop it. Learn to say "No" and never justify yourself afterwards. If you say no and then ask the person if it is okay with them .. you have just given your power away again. Love they neighbour as thy self BUT NOT INSTEAD OF YOURSELF! There is an element of discipline needed here ... but your peace and well being will be the reward. Aura: The subtle body beyond the physical that is under our control by intention. Birth family: Primary carers. Can be adoptive, foster or school teachers. Boundary: The energetic space around the body that every human being is entitled to maintain to remain healthy. Clairsentient: Highly attuned to feeling as a way experiencing the world. Can absorb and process unfelt emotions&physical illness through their own body. Compromise: As a habit; forgoing what you want and feel to accommodate another person/people. Coping strategy: Chosen behaviour to survive unpleasant experience. Disassociation: Rejection of "normal" life, energy spends more time out of the physical body. Often used as a coping strategy. Energy: Life force that needs to move freely through your body and connect with all that is. Empath: Incarnated soul living out of the heart or 4th charka. Empathy: A quality/ ability to be aware, have sympathy; feel the pain of the other. Justification: Used as a tool for approval. Mindfulness: Meditation practise to stay in the moment fully present & with heightened awareness. Scapegoat: Person who takes the blame, willingly or unwillingly. Never judge a scapegoat; there is no shame in being one (but there is in judging one) often someone is called to be the one to release a build up of energy. In Empathy it can lead to a practise of sacrifice and self pity. Shaktipat: Pure energy that affects change; under Eastern discipline it is bestowed from guru to disciple. I have added this essay as it is essential to understanding the healing dynamics of the Universe.Understanding EntrainmentWhat is entrainment? Why we fail to entrain naturally at birth. How we can use the knowledge as a "free" guide to "integration" ... through the elements. Why Empaths or Heart Chakra Beings unable to "entrain" must disassociate. We start entrainment whilst still in the womb and in doing so we endeavour to prepare ourselves for the entry into the physical world. I hear so many sensitive people saying that from a very early age they distinctly remember not wanting to be born, or even to be here at all. It is accepted now that whatever the mother experiences is also experienced by the baby and what the baby is connected to, through the umbilical cord, is a constant stream of emotions being experienced by the mother. When we consider "experiences" these are not necessarily situations that maybe far outside what we could call the ordinary, like a car accident or an assault, although of course it can also happen. It is more to do with the day to day responses the mother has to her life in general. For a highly sensitive Being trying to entrain into harmony with its coming environment, through a mother and possibly ancestral line that is operating from fear hence repression or un-healthy expression (aggression) it causes high level anxiety to be triggered in the unborn baby. Our natural survival instinct probably kicks in almost immediately causing us to start erecting different coping strategies as survival mechanisms. Later in life these techniques no longer serve us but they have often become so well established they operate as our "automatic behaviour" patterns or personality. Many people refer to them as "other-selves" I prefer to see them as our "Shields" that we erected to protect ourselves from different threats in our earlier environment(s). On this planet we never completely destroy our shields or not without a sound knowledge of martial arts & Shape-shifting (!) but we develop more appropriate structures or shields to nurture our new growth. Healthy entrainment through being "Connected to all the Elements" is how we naturally heal our perceived "Separation" from Source.
To continue, people in general learn to cope with this lack of entrainment or separation and in doing so succumb to what is considered the norm. For the highly sensitive being it really does depend on the level of "sensitivity" and the reason the Soul incarnated through that particular womb and ancestral line. High sensitivity from birth nearly always indicates a very strong heart chakra hence I often refer to them as "heart chakra beings" or Empaths. That does not mean someone cannot be sensitive that has a stronger dominance in another chakra but their level to sacrifice themselves for others or the good of the whole is no where near so intense. Also many people suffer sensitivity or the symptoms of sensitivity through broken boundaries during childhood or later in life but not necessarily experiencing what I refer to as hyper-sensitivity since birth. Please be aware that often we do not realise how sensitive we are and the reason for this is that we completely close down our sensitivity to survive. The level of feeling the pain of "all humanity" is just too severe. If you have trouble remembering early childhood or there are large gaps, then for you it was the most appropriate choice to enable survival. Often this strategy is used in cases of sexual/physical abuse and in different cultures referred to as "disassociation" or "soul loss"; it is also used when the Heart Being finds itself desolate unable to experience the "Truth of Giving and Receiving Love". It was many years ago that it was presented to me that it "takes an Empath to heal an Empath" I accepted it because it felt right but had no depth of understanding of the fact. Now I realise that the level of pain an Empath or Heart Chakra Being is capable of feeling, which can truly be compared to the penetration of a knife into the heart, has to be felt to be understood. Hence a heart based being will immediate sense the superficial "empathy" of others; often meaning well the counsellor will nod and agree but not actually "hear" or "feel" the Heart Being and then project their own (miss)understanding &/or interpretation onto the situation. The difference that separates Heart Chakra Beings from others is they will feel that intensity of pain because the "other" is feeling it, not because they are "personally" suffering a loss, humiliation or persecution. As far as the heart chakra being is concerned the level of pain is exactly as if it was theirs or even worse because they would prefer to feel it themselves and save the other from the experience. Moving out of psychotherapeutic terminology and into spiritual advancement using self development practices, at the level I am talking about it this is not "Projection" on the part of the Heart Being. I feel the need to state most clearly, this is the exception to the rule and the one occasion (that I am aware of) that using "the world as a mirror", "knowing that we cannot change anyone but ourselves" and the rules of Projection are not valid. The Heart Chakra Being truly has a level of sacrifice that goes way beyond any normal human instinct to help; it raises the question again in A Pathway to Healing in the Footsteps of Christ. As my awareness widened on the subject I feel these Beings are now more like containers of grief or to use another person's term of reference ... almost "Grief Shrines" for humanity in general.
